VENUS IN PISCES

Although this article is about Venus in Pisces, I will first write about its neighbour. At the time of writing, Venus is inhabiting the final degrees of Aquarius. Here, Venus is intellectual and rather self-conscious. The influence here is that of Saturn. There is a valuing of those qualities of mind that can help us make a safe place for ourselves and for others. The Venus in Aquarius man or woman is most likely going to take their time before making any decisions in love or money, and they guard their heart like the choice treasure that it is. Many people misinterpret this as being aloof- but the aloofness is only that which is necessary to prevent the deeper treasure from being sullied, disrespected, destroyed.

Venus in Pisces: Strange Fish.

This Venus in Pisces being is a different kind of creature altogether. Venus is exalted in Pisces. This means that this is a sign in which the inherent energy of Venus is easily expressed. This does not mean that love is an easy journey for the Venus in Pisces person. This can be quite the contrary. However, is anything worthwhile easy to experience? That might simply be my Venus in Aries speaking, however!

Pisces is of course ruled by Neptune, king of the bottomless deep and the world of illusions. The sea is wonderful to behold, but contains a lot of secrets and the bones of many drowned innocents. Venus herself was of course born from the sea, from a little bit of semen that fell from the severed genitals of Ouranos discarded by a rising god. Hence there is great beauty here, as well as unmentionable tragedy and pain. Sea sailors that cross the ocean bring back wealth and glory to their homeland. However, they risk horrors that are difficult to contemplate:

"Water, water, every where,
 And all the boards did shrink;
 Water, water, every where,
 Nor any drop to drink.

The very deep did rot: O Christ!
 That ever this should be!
Yea, slimy things did crawl with legs
 Upon the slimy sea.

About, about, in reel and rout
 The death-fires danced at night;
The water, like a witch's oils,
Burnt green, and blue and white."

-From The Rime of the Ancient Mariner

The writer of this poem was himself a romantic. He was also a drug addict whose laudanum habit was as crippling as any heroin habit we would know of today.

Which brings me to my next point. I had an interesting discussion with a friend of mine the other day about how Neptune, Pisces, 12th house energy is like an acid trip. It’s a lucky dip. You never quite know what you are going to get. What you get will be a distortion. It will be a reflection of your own psychology that somehow still shows you the nature of a deeper truth. Venus in Pisces individuals will experience love and abundance in this way, as a trip, something that dissolves 3D reality to reveal something better- or something more terrible. Depending on your own attitude to the person you are with, and your surroundings!

Venus in Pisces: Some considerations.

Remember: seafaring nations gain a lot of gold and glory and good things, but their fortunes rise and fall like the sea as well. Pisces is ruled by Jupiter, also Neptune. It is a dual sign that swims in both directions. This is very much an “easy come, easy go” kind of energy which suits Venus just fine, as Venus enjoys a relaxed approach to life. Of course; letting things be in flow is a great secret of manifestation. If the Venus in Pisces individual has the ability to consciously tap into that relaxed approach, the potential for great happiness is there. However, walking around *blindly* in a relaxed manner is a sure way to fall into a deep pit.

My recommendation for Venus in Pisces transits (and for Venus in Pisces individuals in particular) is to carry or wear amethyst, to clear the distortions and blockages that can make this a dangerous experience. Don’t take anything too seriously in this energy, keep an open mind and explore. There will be some amazing experiences as well as frightening ones, and Venus might just decide to gift you with something very nice. Buckle in and enjoy the ride!

SUN IN PISCES

So! At the time of writing, Aquarius season is moving to an end. I thought I would create this post to explore the meaning of the Sun in Pisces, and Piscean energy in general. It is a much misunderstood energy, both adulated and maligned. The truth is, as always, far more beautiful than those extremes.

Pisces: An overview.

The zodiac is, as we know, a wheel that comprises of twelve segments. Aries is the first, and Pisces is the last. This is where the cycle ends, and where it begins again. Pisces Suns are often seen as “old souls” for this very reason. These beings are somewhat tired. There’s a sense of having come to the end before it has really begun, and now it is time to sleep! Indeed, these individuals are famous for their napping.

The twelfth house is ruled by Pisces and this house comprises of all worlds that are and ever will be. In a vision, I was shown the twelfth house as being infinitely,

infinitely larger and more multi-dimensional than any of us can conceive of. The Piscean lives in other worlds as well as this one. This is the dreamer for whom our reality is not particularly important, for there is so much more potential in all the other dimensions that they have an intuitive sense of. Doubtless, many Pisceans visit these places in their dreams- and even the dreamless sleep itself is like a good death, a blissful escape into the infinite nothing which an old old soul would be glad to seek after many tired lifetimes on earth.

The dark side of Pisces energy

Herein can lie a problem. We are in this world, whether we like it or not. Pisces can, on the negative side of things, be escapist and ungrounded. Neptune and the twelfth house offer us a glimpse of heaven and the being that has caught a glimpse of these worlds will often catch themselves up in a lot of negative behaviours in order to get there. Television, pornography, drugs, alcohol and other illicit substances all fall under the auspices of Pisces, Neptune and the twelfth house.

There can also be a tendency to avoid the truth, distort it, or misinterpret it- at least the truth in a Mercurial sense. Mercury is in detriment in Pisces, and in Pisces Jupiter is in domicile as well as in Sagittarius. Small details do not matter here. They get in the way of the big picture that is preferred by many visionaries. However, this can lead to a troublesome tendency to ignore some pretty significant facts, in favour of a more comfortable ideal that isn’t exactly real. Pisces, and the Pisces Sun in particular, must guard against irresponsibility and a tendency to swim away from troubles and boring things like work. Pisces does like money (the fish can symbolise the exchange of cash going both ways), but in many cases they do not like to work for it! Or, if they do, the work itself can be an escape from the more confronting details of everyday reality. This is all well and good, but the Fish need to be aware that others will have to pick up the slack that they are too dreamy to carry.

Pisces energy: A summary.

That being said though, there are many ways in which one can be of benefit to the world! We do not all have to be lawyers, bank tellers or street sweepers. Artists, poets and even the homeless are of value in our society. All have something to give. Perhaps the Pisces Sun, more than anyone else, needs to be reminded of their value in a world in which it can feel like they do not belong. It is just that for personal and emotional security (which Pisces craves as much as any other water sign), the self does seek definition and purpose. When the mundane is ignored, all of this magical energy coming in from other worlds can dissappear back into those other worlds. The rest of us do not get to see, experience or enjoy it. I’m reminded of Buddha who had to be persuaded by the gods to share his message to the rest of the world, as he would have preferred to stay in meditation- but the gods did say that we did need it. Therefore, Buddha picked up his begging bowl and came back amongst us all, putting up with the everyday- in order to serve and to teach.

One thing I will add as a bit of a funny mention: Pisces individuals often have a thing for shoes. This sign rules the feet. Either they cannot bear to get rid of their old worn-out shoes or they have a heck of a shoe collection. Or, their feet may be particularly pungent. In any case, if you have a Pisces sweetie, I am sure he or she will probably appreciate a good foot rub- as long as you are adept in the art!

Pisces Season itself:

As for Pisces season itself! This time of year does bring with it endings and beginnings. The tendency is to feel a bit exhausted (it is the end of winter for most people, after all, and times are hard!) and to let down one’s guard. Surely, this isn’t always a bad thing. But you must keep your antennae sharp for people that don’t mean well. Neptune delusions might come in thick and fast at this time and that always brings with it an unpleasant shock. Guard against that Piscean tendency to ignore the facts in favour of a dream would be my advice. Or dream, but do not build a house on sand!

Think about what your escapism means to you. We all do need an escape. Maybe use this time to look at ways of escaping that will serve you the best, personally. Sleep habits might need some revamping- or it could be a good time to look into lucid dreaming or even astral travel (but be sure to practice this safely!). Sleep is an excellent method through which we can access wisdom from these other dimensions that can be helpful to us in our day to day life. For, we do need a good sleep before we take on the bright new day that is the rebirth of Aries season!

Apophis:

Now, those of you who know me know that I am not unduly asteroid-focussed, when it comes to astrology. These are tricky things; so tiny and abundant in our solar system that their orb of influence must be counted as extremely small. Yet, when they do activate an important part of a chart, the effect is something like that of an air rifle pellet to the boob. The hit is there; localised and perhaps only somewhat of a detail in comparison to an actual bullet. However, if it hits the right spot, it can blind and maim. Or bless! Yes, let’s be positive. There are defintiely nice asteroids as well as more sinister ones.

Aphopis, however, falls into the category of something that is far more sinister. This is a terrible Egyptian snake demon, the enemy of Ra in their old religion. The sun-priests of Egypt would be up at night, all night, chanting and praying to help the gods keep Ophopis at bay- or that is what it would seem to the common people. However, to the initiate of those times, I am sure this was more an exercise to strengthen and condition the mind and the will of the sun priest, to break them down so that they can be built up again. Oh, and I forgot to mention, it is the cat god that slays Ophopis, in that mythology. Remember how I mentioned cats acting strangely at the moment?

For this asteroid is one of the many danger asteroids that actually stand a chance of hitting Earth. It is unlikely in the extreme to do so. But if it did hit us, thousands of square kilometres of land would be devastated. It would be about six times more destructive than Krakatoa. Life on Earth would certainly survive, but not as we know it.

So where are the sun priests today? What is the relevance to the rest of the astrology at present? Well- some of the sun priests are doing what they have always done. They are chanting at midnight, harnessing their minds and their skills, connecting to Divine energy. But these days we have another variety of sun priest as well, we have scientists. And today, they are looking at means to destroy or deflect these asteroids before they hit the Earth.

What a message of hope for the age of Aquarius! Yes, there are good sun priests and there are bad sun priests. There are scientists and occultists corrupted by gain as well as inspired by good. But- here is the great thing.

We are always subject to chaos. Uranus energy, Aquarian energy brings us the beyond- the unexpected, the outre, the challenge- the great problem for the mind. No matter what we try to do to try and control things (Saturn), there is always going to be the potential for something big to hit us and blow our best-laid plans to dust.

Yet it is the threat of chaos that forces us to evolve in order to surpass our challenges. Aphopis entering the collective awareness at the time of Saturn square Uranus reminds us of the human ability to transcend limitations that previously would have seen impossible to move past. A thousand years ago, if you mentioned rocks flying in space and the possibility of moving them or exploding them, you would have been seen as mad. Now, however, it is a very real possibility.

Apophis tells me: even the gods need to be challenged at times. Every now and again, the abyss must be heard to cry out for feeding. For this is how we expand our horizons. Do not underestimate yourself, and do not underestimate events. Do not underestimate others! Yes, we could all be blown to a paste by an asteroid- or we could possibly strive to counter such a threat. But by all means, do the best you can each and every day to learn and to grow and to grow mighty in your own evolution and intellect. The lessons and the triumphs that come from such challenges are incredible in themselves!

Pluto and Sacred Union: Darkness, Honey, Gall.

Pluto! Destructive god, king of death and Chaos. How we love this, even though we may say we don’t! For, chaos and death are intrinsic to our survival. Let me explain.

I am sure my reader realises that the world around them is formed of many chemical processes- that their digestion, their breathing, the construction of the various objects around them are all the results of various chemical processes. Which are, indeed, never in a state of total completion and rest. All created things are subject to change, as the Buddhists say. Everything we have here will, one day, be something else.

Chemistry of course derives from alchemy, which is a form of practical magick that was practiced in old times. These alchemists who sought to turn lead into gold made discoveries which led to modern chemistry. However, the turning lead into gold bit also had its symbolic, psychospiritual dimension. The alchemist wasn’t only trying to make material gold nuggets, he or she was attempting to understand the “Great Work” of refining the human soul from a leaden state into a golden one. So it is with the yogis who seek to refine tamas into sattva. So it is today with ceremonial magicians.

The alchemist, yogi and magician all seek to join the Divine Masculine and Divine Feminine in the alchemical marriage of sacred union. He or she is making something new and amazing out of two opposite forces. Yet this process of psychological alchemy occurs with us all. We all have Pluto in our charts. We all have Scorpio in our charts. We all have an eighth house. We all go through death and rebirth. We all enter into sacred union in our lives- whether the marriage partner be a real life person, someone we actually marry, or simply a life event. Some of us do it consciously… many more of us do not.

So what is the connexion with Pluto?

Pluto rules those times in our lives where it all becomes out of control. This is the total, absolute, all-consuming and utter blackness that overwhelms us and burns us to ashes.

Put two things- you and someone/ something that has the right effect on you- into a bottle. Shake it. Put it under pressure. Burn it. Let the acids and the metals that are you and this other thing brew and enter tumult in this space. You melt and break apart. Everything changes. There is confusion and blackness. What do we have now?

This is the stage which is known in alchemy as “nigredo”- when all that is within the flask is burnt to total and utter blackness, where there is no way of recognising what these substances once were. These are events that make our lives unrecognisable, these are passions that destroy us psychologically- this does not seem survivable. Pluto brings those people, places and things that we feel will kill us.

For nigredo is the dark night of the soul, where in total blackness we are forced to confront our shadow self, the demon we must befriend in order to become who we are meant to be. It is not a comfortable process! The chemical process by which grape juice becomes wine cannot be terribly comfortable for the grape juice. Neither is it readily comprehended by the grape juice. So it is for us. But sooner or later, we do need to come to terms with the truth of what is taking place within us. We must accept these dark and painful feelings- these confronting obsessions- the sensation of grief and fear- the fact of our experience.

Yet the Divine Masculine and Divine Feminine are not alone in their flask. Always present in the alchemical process is Spirit, here shown in the form of a dove. Only through the intercession of the operator does peace come- eventually. The two must realise that what they are to be is not what they were before. Life will never be the same again. It is not under their control.

And this is our sacred union. When we reach that place of peace and acceptance through the mediation of Spirit, when all has come into equilibrium in divine timing. For only the operator knows how long these elements need to stay in their flask.

And then we rise. After nigredo, after this bardo state of darkness and pressure, a state of illumination is reached. You and this opposing force that has destroyed a part of your life have both created a new life between you. You might have a new awareness, a new business, a new wisdom, a new child- and the world awaits it with great joy and celebration! For life loves to beget more life.

For anyone reading this who is going through their Pluto transformation I have only this advice to offer: remember the presence of Spirit. You are going to become something bigger, better and brighter than you were before. What you are now cannot conceive of what you will be in the future. Nothing is certain- except the fact of your rebirth and resurrection.

NEW MOON IN AQUARIUS FEBRUARY 2021

At the time of writing (6.2.2021) we are experiencing a waning crescent moon in the sign of Sagittarius. Venus is conjunct Saturn. A call to freedom is in the air… to broader, wider, happier pastures than we have experienced before. Enough is enough! We have all been through so much crap since the beginning of the year, but it has made us all wiser and far more focused. We each have our mission in mind. What are we going to do to make sure we align with it?

This New Moon features six planets in the sign of Aquarius- the highest concentration of revolutionary Aquarian energy we will have this year. Who cares if Mercury RX can indicate a false start at first? When Mercury is direct, all planets will be direct. The brakes are off!

Venus is conjunct Saturn now, at the time of writing- we are forced to confront our responsibilities, our difficult truths and our limitations. At the time of the New Moon, however, Venus will be conjunct Jupiter- who brings blessings, abundance, idealism and excitement. At this time, take what you have learned in the more difficult cycles and use it to dream up a bold new plan that will manifest more joy and more clarity in the upcoming year. Uranus is genius- lightning insight, flashes of inspiration. Whatever comes to you now might just be brilliant enough to work- but it might take a little bit more time, energy and elbow grease to get things to the point where they are capable of bearing fruit 🙂

Mercury will have squared Mars in retrograde, and the fast aggressive communication, shocks and surprises that are a hallmark of this aspect might still be a feature of this time. Watch out for fixed signs, because their fixed ideas might be taking a bit of a beating at the moment, and they don’t like that!

This aspect will be exact on 10.2.2021, but will be in effect the day before and after. Look to occurrences around Jan 8, for this is when Mercury squared Mars direct- you may have to revist those happenings- and revisit them again around March 23, when it squares Mars direct again.

Mars is sextile Neptune, however, which takes a lot of the energy and dynamism out of him. Be wary of “Knight of Wands” types, but also use this energy to dream up new ideas and be creative- Neptune is *excellent* for plugging into those other dimensions, and Mars is the kind of vehicle to really get us there, to actually motivate us to sit down and write or get up and paint.

Remember: this is a time for seed planting and intention setting. Look for where the New Moon is taking place in your own chart, and what house is ruled by Aquarius. Where are you called to be original, where are you called to be of service to humanity? What is your own bit of genius you can offer to the world that will be of great reward to you and to us all? How is it that you are different- in a way that may be uncomfortable but is needed to bring light to your own life, and to the lives of others? These are essential questions for you to ponder at this time, and as this whole year bears the signature of Aquarius and of change- make use of this energy, as it can define your success for a long time to come.

The New Moon in Aquarius takes place at 8:05AM on 12.2.2021 (NZ time)

VENUS CONJUNCT SATURN 6.2.2021

So! I hope everyone is doing well. My fellow New Zealanders have just begun to settle into what will be a long weekend for us all, and a time for reflection on colonisation. Remembering where we came from is a conscious choice we are called to make- often we try to forget, or try to be a part of what we would like to be a part of only. But the good and the bad, the light and the dark are part of our past- and they are part of our destiny, as well.

We have just moved out of some intense emotional detox with the Moon passing its final quarter in the sign of Scorpio, triggering the building Saturn-Uranus square. There might have been some intense arguments, as the Moon in Scorpio squared Mercury RX… or perhaps it was time for some deep introspection and release of rotten emotional energy. Now as the Moon approaches the New Moon in Aquarius, we are moved through more cycles of shedding those burdens that no longer serve us.

Highlighting this approach to the New Moon is an aspect that has been building in the background for some time- Venus conjunct Saturn, which of course is currently only a degree away from squaring Uranus exact.

Oh Saturn! This is not a very well-loved energy. Saturn tells us where to stop and where we must go, and it tells us with such finality. These are the burdens and the restrictions that are self-inflicted, but it is part of the order of creation that we consciously or subconsciously state this sense of lack. For if we were to expand indefinitely, there would be no shape or no meaning to our lives. Our souls want to *deeply* experience our creations and our acheivements. Magick is not like in the movies, a quick flourish of the wand and thousands of dollars are there- it is a lifetime commitment, a journey of sweat and pain and toil! And that’s what makes it so great.

Venus is of course our sense of what we value, our loves, our finances, our relationships and our belongings. A little Saturn will help Venus- without a little Saturn in a relationship, for example, there is no committment and no true grounded substance. But all the same, Saturn is the boring old bugbear that makes things hard work at times. It is no-nonsense and will call “cut the crap!” when a limit is reached.

Over the next few days, we might be called to let something or someone go- at least for now, as retrogrades tend to bring things back for review later on. This will be something we value. Or we might simply have to think more about where our boundaries are. What do we truly want to acheive? What are the energies that are going to be a liability for us on this journey as we move into this new version of ourselves?

Saturn is an energy that grow better with age. When we are young, it is often poor self-esteem. When we are older, it is responsibility, skill and certainty. Be brave enough now to make those choices that might be difficult now, but will age well. I believe in you!

All dates/times are in New Zealand time 🙂

VENUS IN AQUARIUS FEBRUARY 2021

At the time of writing (31.01.2021), we are really moving through one heck of a gateway. The Uranus-Saturn square is only one degree from being exact, we have just come from a powerful Full Moon in Leo, and Venus is in the final degree of Capricorn conjunct Pluto. Not only this, but Mercury stationed RX a few hours ago. February is going to be such a huge month astrologically (for the full rundown, you can become one of my subscribers on Patreon), and it is really starting with a bang as Venus joins the Sun, Saturn, Jupiter and Mercury in the sign of Aquarius.

Venus in Aquarius is an interesting placement- as Aquarius is an interesting sign! The concept of fixed air is an anomaly by definition. How can anything quite so diffuse as air ever have a fixed quality? But Aquarius manages this, of course- through a certain stubborn tenacity of the intellectual process. For the love goddess, this gives her the ability to have a strong focus on her desires. She might strongly favour the intellect, and the intelligent person. Above all, she seeks the frontier between the safety of her self-imposed limitations and the frontier beyond. She might like to think that she makes calculated risks, but she is an idealist as well.

In my view, this strongly intensifies the energy of the Saturn-Uranus square, as Uranus is transiting a Venusian sign- Taurus. We’ve seen some interesting things go down as regards global finance already- the Redditors making large money on Wall Street and bankrupting hedge funds has been a small taste of what is to come. Maybe this is a time in which you can think about some interesting way of making money? But I wouldn’t recommend simply doing what the others are doing, as following the crowd is not what Uranian energy is all about. You are called to tap into your own personal genius here!

Mercury is retrograde during this period, of course- which can be a tricky time for couples, especially those who need to work on their communication. Venus in Aquarius might bring some challenging situations to the fore in order to foster some insight in dynamics that were in danger of going stale. Stay tuned!

Here is a breakdown of some of the important dates for this particular transit:

Feb 6 (Venus conjunct Saturn)

As the Sun is also square to Mars at this time, there might be some altercations regarding our desires- we might tend to feel thwarted, or insecure. Remember that the way of the warrior is not to merely conquer its desire but to win it over through supporting its needs. Do not rush hard-headedly into things but instead look to supporting and strengthening your own vulnerabilities, and the vulnerabilities of those who are close to you.

Feb 7 (Venus square Uranus)

This might be time for those brilliant ideas around finances, and around making our relationships with others more harmonious. Remember that empowering others *wisely* empowers ourselves.

This activates the Uranus-Saturn square, which is growing ever-closer to being exact. Mercury approaches the Sun in retrograde- some difficult discussions with loved ones, perhaps of the “what are we” variety or around finances- may be in order. The waning crescent moon is a banishing sickle, cutting dead wood out of our lives. Be cultured in the art of letting go.

Feb 12 (Venus conjunct Jupiter)

A lovely aspect to have so close to Valentine’s day- I know there has to be a few hopeless romantics among my readers, who do not give a damn that that is a commerical holiday! As we all know, Jupiter expands what it touches- around now, liberation and freedom are in the air. Mercury is still retrograde, but it is out of the danger zone at the beginning and end of the retrograde period. Some people might feel emboldened to let someone know of their affections! This is around the time of the exact Uranus-Saturn square, so some pretty crazy things might be expected to come out of the woodwork…

Feb 20 (Venus square Mars)

Venus square Mars is exactly what one might think- tension between the masculine and the feminine principle. Mars is trine Pluto and sextile Neptune, and Venus simply caught up in that square to an amped-up Mars. Mercury will station direct the next day, so this might be a time in which there are some outlandish conversations- especially as Mercury is conjunct Saturn and Jupiter. Beware big talk. Make sure people mean what they say.

Feb 26 (Venus in Pisces)

When Venus leaves Aquarius for Pisces, we will be approaching the Full Moon in Virgo. Mars will still be trine Pluto. Venus is in exaltation in Pisces- this is warm, creative energy that has been inspired by the events of February to chase a new dream. With Pisces energy it is always important to not let too much flow through your fingers, but this can also be a great time of healing. Sink into the depths… allow yourself to be in flow!

To me Februrary looks like an incredible month, but it will definitely have some challenging moments- especially for those who do not like change, or uncertainty. For fixed signs in particular (and Taurus even more in particular), this will challenge any dysfunctional death-grip, while strengthening the positive qualities of fixed energy- loyalty and endurance. Just be careful what you do set your anchor to, as storms can blow many a well-laden ship onto the greasy, jagged rocks.

Remember that Mercury will be RX for much of the month, and a lot of events will need to be revisited in March. Whatever happens at this time may not be set in stone- at least, not yet!

All times are in NZ time. If you want to check your local time, http://www.astroseek.com has some good free search engines for transits 🙂

Pluto Conjunct Venus (Jan-Feb 2021)

How is everyone doing?

We are in the leadup to Mercury RX and the Full Moon… sleep patterns might be a little bit hectic, it could be hard to concentrate.

At the time of writing (26.01.2021), the Moon is transiting Cancer. This might be making us feel the tension of this Full Moon energy a bit more, especially as its transit through Cancer will see it aspect the Aquarius stellium in an inconjunction. The inconjunction is awkward energy- like ships passing in the night. We might simply have no time for our emotions, or fail to understand what we are experiencing currently… Venus is still sextile Neptune, so there are a lot of things that are unclear at the moment! There’s so much room for misunderstanding. Do try and take a step back! Especially as we have another rather spicy aspect on the horizon, a keynote of the upcoming Full Moon in Leo 🙂

Venus is currently applying to conjunct Pluto, and will be occupying the same degree at the time of the Full Moon. Now… those of us who know anything about synastry know that it might be time to howl like a wolf! Because: simply put, Venus-Pluto is obsession, obsession centered on what it is that we value. Is obsession a good thing? That depends on your perspective.

Obsession can lead to a lot of toxic troubles, a lot of headaches, a lot of hurt feelings and manipulative behaviour. However, obsession can be the impetus that we need to get to the core of something, to figure out our patterns and our blocks, whatever it is that is stopping us from manifesting our full power.

With Venus-Pluto in Capricorn, this obsession can be centered around what gives us a sense of structure, of power, of an enduring legacy that can be built on. So we might be thinking deeply about ways in which we can make some extra money… or we can be thinking deeply about ways in which we can form enduring partnerships.

We may, however, simply have the urge to go out and find someone intoxicating and exciting to be with- especially with Mars squaring the stellium in Aquarius, Jupiter amplifying and warming everything! Be warned: with Venus sextile Neptune as well, this is the kind of astroweather in which you might pick up something toxic. Equally enticing might be the idea of buying something gorgeous and expensive, or getting a bank loan. Venus-Pluto is a financially enriching aspect, but with Venus sextile Neptune I would hold off from any extravagant purchases. Neptune dissolves what it touches- Venus’s expectations can be unrealistic here. Please try not to simply buy stuff in order to make yourself happy because that may sap your power.

My advice to the is to definitely try and do something enjoyable, something to remind yourself of what you truly value and desire. This might be good astroweather in which to introspect about past toxic relationships, especially those which were Plutonian or Neptunian in nature. Mercury is RX soon and you know what that means- texts from the ex (never the one you might actually want to hear from, funnily enough!)

Please remember that control is an illusion. Without Pluto, without strong and primal force to bind us to our desires, there would be no new life. Without death and suffering, there would be no joy and no creation. We might have to go through some shit in our time, but it is worth going through this to truly find our strength!

Venus will be conjunct Pluto exact on 29.1.2021. I will consider this aspect to be in effect from 27.1.2021-1.2.2021.

All times are in New Zealand time 🙂
